Where is the competitive market for Chinese LED display companies?

Issuing time:2017-08-10 17:12

Since the 1990s, the entire high-definition LED display industry at home and abroad has been developing rapidly. Especially in the past three years, due to fierce market competition, the industry has been reshuffled. Many Chinese LED companies have realized the pressure of competition and have stepped up efforts. Large capital investment, continuous expansion of scale, and efforts in technology and differentiated competition, especially as LED lighting has begun to enter the application era, have kicked off the transformation of domestic LED lighting. At present, the domestic LED market is fully open, and exports of LED products still account for a large proportion. It is understood that the domestic LED industry is concentrated in Shenzhen, and about 80% of its products are exported.

From this point of view, foreign demand is huge and the export of LED products is growing strongly. In recent years, total LED exports have maintained most of the annual growth rate. In fact, different companies have their own focus on domestic and foreign markets. For example, Lehman, Absen, and Alto invest heavily in foreign markets, while companies such as Unilumin and Lianjian are doing well in the domestic market. And companies like Kangshuozhan Electronics that focus on differentiated and creative products and take into account both domestic and foreign markets.

For traditional Chinese enterprises, doing well in the international market poses certain challenges. First of all, due to the late start of China's LED industry, insufficient understanding of intellectual property rights, and lagging behind in patent application and protection work, Chinese LED display companies are facing fierce market competition because they do not have the sharp tool of LED patents. It is difficult to take the initiative in competition in the international market and is often in a more passive position. Secondly, the formulation of international LED standards has reached a considerable scale, and its system is relatively mature and complete, and is basically in sync with the development of the market. However, the introduction of LED standards in our country is relatively far behind. We must learn from the advanced experience of the United States, the European Union and other countries, starting from the standards that are urgent and have a greater impact on product development, and quickly formulate some standards or specifications that will help the development of the industry. It enables enterprises in the industry to learn from and refer to it.

Thirdly, Chinese companies' development of the international market for LED displays is also subject to competitive pressure from other countries. From Asia alone, Japan, South Korea and China are three countries with relatively complete industry development, and each has its own advantages: Japan's LED industry started early, has a complete industrial chain, and plays an important role in the international market. In 2010 It has accounted for 1/4 of the international market; although South Korea’s LED industry started late, it has rapidly emerged in just a few years due to its technological research and development capabilities; while the development of China’s LED industry has received strong support from the government and has manpower and raw materials. and other cost advantages. These major LED industrial powers have formed a tripartite pattern in Asia, and battles for market share are raging. In addition to these, my country is also a major producer and consumer of LED lighting products, with the output of energy-saving lamps and incandescent lamps ranking first in the world. The United States is one of the regions with the most developed LED industry in the world and is also my country's largest export market.

In the long run, under the background of deepening globalization and marketization, global competition in LED is inevitable. Only with competition can we have the driving force to promote the continuous progress of the industry and promote the continuous development of the industry. Healthy competition also promotes the market. A necessary condition for continuous progress, but we must also prevent the growth of vicious competition. Price war is a "double-edged sword" with both advantages and disadvantages. For the industry, it can promote the layout optimization of survival of the fittest, but for companies, it is not the only way to seize the market. Companies need to control and improve based on their own actual conditions. The quality and brand of the products, making differentiated products, and doing one's own job in a down-to-earth manner can enable the LED display industry to develop healthily and enterprises to gain an advantage in the competition.
